Am I eligible to the summer school?
If you are a student at Master or PhD level registered at a Swiss or international institute you are eligible for the summer school.
When and how is the summer school fee payed?
For Master students 100 CHF. For PhD students 250 CHF. The payments is requested only after acceptance and is due by the 30th June 2024. In absence of payment within this date, the school will irreversibly re-assign the available spot to another candidate. Payment details will be forwarded upon acceptance.
What does the fee cover?
The registration fee includes the meals according to the schedule (lunch from Monday to Friday, coffee breaks, social dinner in Lausanne on Thursday) and the transport between Zürich and Lausanne on Wednesday.
The school tries to fully or partially cover the stay in hostels/hotels of all the attendees according to the budget constraints. Please note that this coverage of the stay expenses is not guaranteed.
Is there a limit in the number of participants?
There is a maximum of 30 participants. A maximum of 10 participants will be selected from outside the ETH domain.
Is it mandatory to present a poster?
No, presenting a poster is not mandatory. However, we strongly encourage students to present their research to stimulate interesting discussions.
How many credits can I get and how?
With this summer school, students can obtain 2 credits by passing a written exam at the end of the week. The exam involve open questions about the topics addressed during the week.
When will I know if I will participate to the school?
After the registration deadline, you will know if you have been accepted in 2 weeks. After that, you will have 2 weeks to pay the fee to finalize the registration.
